Why Choose Paragon Pictures?

One of the many reasons Paragon takes the lead over other companies is that our history stems from understanding production based on our hands-on experience with actual movie production, and the consequent importance of attaining good distribution deals that work for the producer.  Paragon represents a boutique firm that matches up each title carefully with the correct selected retailers to maximize profit. We are content-driven and recognize that the business has become a fractured entity, and sales are now based on volume. Paragon strongly believes that individuality within each given title, can be achieved on a mass-level for profitability, while not sacrificing the individual soul and characteristic of the film. This knowledge results in the perfect match for film and distributor, with each film being treated as if it were the next Oscar winner, resulting in accountability without recklessness.

Paragon Pictures launched in 2014 with the release of BOTTLED UP, starring Oscar® winning actress Melissa Leo (The Fighter). Paragon secured a limited theatrical release of the film in ten significant theaters across the United States. This theatrical launch allowed Paragon to obtain a lucrative Netflix deal for the title, as well as prominent placement in iTunes and cable VOD, and positioned itself as an ally to producers in the ever-expanding field of digital distribution. Other significant titles for Paragon Pictures include THE KILL HOLE, starring Chadwick Boseman (42) who can be seen in upcoming roles such as legendary godfather of funk, James Brown in GET ON UP, and TWENTY8K, starring Parminder Nagra (Bend It Like Beckham) and Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner).

Evan Crooke, CEO and Founder of Paragon Pictures, is known as one of the true visionaries in independent film distribution. His background as director-producer in the late '90s (The Killing Jar), combined with his innovative entrepreneurial vision positions Evan as a leader, based on his willingness to take calculated risks. Crooke's team, who maintain a substantial presence at the major film and television markets from AFM to Berlin, and MIPCOM to NATPE, is largely comprised of innovative and resourceful, experienced executives with a multitude of talents.  The Paragon team is less rigid, less stale and more open-minded than other indie-packaged-media distribution companies, as they incorporate the most current technologies into their business model. Their relationship with Fordela is a great example of the company's position as a cutting edge distribution force, which allows a new way to deliver films to customers with great success. In fact, Crooke’s company was one of the first to print marketing materials with QR codes which set the precedent in early 2012.
